FAQ

Questions we always get

When should we choose each model?

Staff augmentation when you already run delivery and need specific skills embedded in your team, with room to scale up or down as the roadmap moves.

POD when you want an outcome owned end to end: a managed full team with QA and leadership included, and no day-to-day people management on your side.

AI functional prototype when you have an AI idea to validate: a working product in 14 business days at a fixed price, before committing to a full build.

Fixed-price project when scope is clear and stable and you want cost certainty: full technical spec upfront and milestone-based payments.

And if the honest answer is "it depends", that is exactly what the 30-minute call is for.

How does the contract work?

We use a Master Services Agreement that enables all engagement models, so you sign once and add Statements of Work as you need them. No renegotiating the legal framework every time you onboard a new profile.

Staff augmentation is the most flexible model: engagements start quickly and can wind down with a 2-month notice period, giving you real flexibility without abandoning your team overnight.

POD and fixed-price models are governed by individual SoWs with defined scope, deliverables and payment milestones.

How long does onboarding take?

The process is fast and predictable. From the moment you hand us the job opening: about two weeks to find, evaluate and present the profile (screening, technical tests, architecture review, psychometrics), then one week of onboarding after your approval, covering equipment provisioning, system access and team alignment.

Total: about 3 weeks from job opening to first day on your team.

What happens if a developer does not work out?

It is rare, because our six-stage vetting process is specifically designed to eliminate mismatches before they happen. But if it occurs, we handle it: we replace the profile at our cost, running a parallel search so your timeline is not impacted. You are not left holding the problem.

Where are the engineers located and what are their working hours?

Our engineers work from Aztia’s secure offices in Medellín and Bogotá, Colombia, fully aligned to US time zones (EST/CST/PST). They work your hours, attend your standups and communicate in English. No async gaps, no translation friction.

All equipment, network, security and facilities are provided by Aztia. Your team has zero overhead.

Who handles legal, IP and compliance?

Everything is contracted US-to-US through our St. Petersburg, FL headquarters. IP ownership transfers to the client by default. We carry commercial insurance, and our agreements are built for US procurement standards, so your legal team will not need to navigate foreign entity complexity.
